Aboriginal Resources & Pathways website PDF  | Print |  Email

NDS NSW has launched the Aboriginal Resources and Pathways website. The site brings together a range of resources to assist disability service providers to develop strategies to enhance the rates of access of Aboriginal people with disability, including:

  • Information on government initiatives and projects.
  • Current research on disability in Aboriginal communities.
  • Literature on successful and practical ways disability services have established services targeted at Aboriginal communities
  • A population data hub on Aboriginal communities by Local Government Area across NSW.
  • Information about events, local networks and community interagencies that foster networking between Aboriginal communities and disability services.
  • The inhibiters and enablers experienced by disability services in working effectively with Aboriginal communities and ways to overcome those barriers.
  • Information about local networks of disability services and Aboriginal communities developed under the ARP.
  • Questions and suggestions section for disability services and Aboriginal communities to upload information.

NDS encourages interested parties to update information, suggest practical resources, update local community events or to join a local network of disability services and Aboriginal communities in their jurisdiction. See Project Coordinator John Gilroy details below.
